A brilliantly conceived collection of essays on all aspects of life - and death
by
NICHOLAS HANCOCK
AVAILABLE FROM AMAZON
evans-experientialism.freewebspace.com/nickyindex.htm
Let it not be said that the art of essay writing finished with Hazlitt or even with Stevenson. In this new collection covering an unusual breadth of material, Nicholas Hancock's verve and insight are at once apparent. Some believers might take exception to his frankly sceptical approach to religion. However, though he is clearly an atheist, he approaches the subject through humour rather than hostility. Moreover, coming from Liverpool myself, I realise that there are fellow Scousers who may take exception to Hancock's light-hearted take on the calamitous state of our streets. I don't think they will hold it against him, though: there's a smile in his prose that's frankly captivating whether you agree with him or not. I warmly recommend this read. by Pavla Kulifayov
